With a career spanning decades on both sides of the glass, Whynot Jansveld brings a musician's ear to every mastering session. Having recorded with artists ranging from The Wallflowers and Richard Marx to Sara Bareilles and Kate Hudson and regularly working with top-tier producers like Butch Walker and Linda Perry, he understands instinctively what a record needs — and what it doesn't.
The goal is music that sounds big, beautiful, and dynamic — not processed or hyped. A simple concept to be sure, but apparently elusive enough that it has made an impressive list of artists find their way to Whynot, including Dave Matthews Band, Train, The Wallflowers, Butch Walker, Richard Marx, Jewel, The Gaslight Anthem, Martin Sexton, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Elizabeth Cook, Andrew McMahon and Ingrid Michaelson.
